N’Golo Kante confirms he could see out playing days with Chelsea

Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante has this afternoon provided an update on his future, reassuring all associated with the club that he remains fully committed to the Blues cause.

Kante’s rise to stardom

Kante, who arrived at Stamford Bridge from Leicester City in the summer of 2016, has proven an absolute revelation since making the move to the Premier League from Caen in 2015.

After playing a starring role for the Foxes on their way to securing a shock English top-flight crown during his debut campaign with the club, Kante was sought out by a number of Europe’s top clubs, with the likes of Manchester United, PSG and Juventus having all been linked with moves for the diminutive Frenchman.

Chelsea stint

However, in the end, it was Chelsea who opted to splash out the required £32 million to coax Kante away from the King Power Stadium, a fee which, in hindsight, has proven an absolute bargain.

The 28-year-old has gone from strength to strength since his move to London, racking up both the Premier League Player and Players’ Player of the Year awards for the 2016/17 season, as he secured his second league title in his first two seasons in England.

‘Continue to have great seasons’

Kante, now in his 4th campaign as a Chelsea player, remains a crucial member of the club’s midfield setup, despite persistent injury problems of late.

As such, with the Frenchman still also a firm fan favourite, all associated with the Pensioners are no doubt hopeful of Kante continuing to ply his trade in the club’s colours for the foreseeable future.

And, if the midfield dynamo has his way, then this will certainly prove to be the case.

When drawn on his future during an interview with Téléfoot earlier today, Kante confirmed that he could see out the remainder of his career at Stamford Bridge:

‘Of course (I could finish my career at Chelsea). Today, I am with Chelsea until 2023. So, in my head, I hope to continue to have great seasons with Chelsea until 2023.’

When asked if he can envision himself playing in another league, the World Cup winner continued:

‘No, not really.’
