Neymar wants Nou Camp return, according to Barcelona’s vice-president

Neymar’s time in France

Neymar left Barcelona for Ligue 1 giants PSG back in August of 2017.

PSG are understood to have paid a world-record fee of €222m to land the Brazilian.

However, since making the switch to France, Neymar hasn’t exactly had the best of times.

While PSG have consistently won Ligue 1, they have continued to struggle in the Champions, a problem you would have thought Neymar would have been brought in to help fix.

Neymar has also had several injury problems whilst in Paris, seeing him feature in just 17 league games this past season.

Neymar back to Barcelona?

After two years with PSG, Neymar is now being linked with a return to Barcelona.

The prevailing rumour is that Barcelona are willing to offer €100m plus Philippe Coutinho in exchange for Neymar.

Barcelona’s vice-president Jordi Cardoner has since spoken about a potential Neymar return.

Cardonder does state that Neymar wants to return to Barcelona. However, he also mentions that there were many things he did not like about Neymar’s departure to PSG:

“The correct thing is to say that Neymar wants to return to Barcelona, but I do not agree that Barcelona worry about signing Neymar, this is not on the table.

“There are many things about his departure that I did not like, many things.

“There are claims that we have signed Neymar. We have not signed anyone. We have not kept in touch with him. He and many more want to play for Barcelona.

“It does not surprise me that Neymar wants to come back, it has already happened before with others and sometimes they have returned – Cesc [Fabregas], [Gerard] Pique.

“Neymar is a great player, but the circumstances of how he left also have to be evaluated to see if this can become a reality.”As quoted by Goal.
