Bild have thrown a new name into the mix regarding who will be Chelsea’s manager at the start of 2019-20.

According to Bild, Chelsea are interested in signing Ralf Rangnick from RB Leipzig.

Of course, at the time of writing, Mauruzio Sarri remains Chelsea’s manager.

Sarri has just enjoyed a successful first season at Stamford Bridge.

The Italian won his first major honour as Chelsea lifted the Europa League trophy, while Chelsea finished third in the Premier League.

Juventus are rumoured to want to appoint Sarri, however that’s yet to happen.

Who is Ralf Rangnick?

Now 60, Ralf Rangnick has overseen RB Leipzig’s coming of age in Germany.

He lead them to promotion from the Bundesliga 2, while he’s helped turn Leipzig into one of the top teams in the Bundesliga.

How likely is it that Chelsea appoint Ralf Rangnick?

There’s reasons to have doubts.

While Bild tell their readers that Ralf Rangnick has a “soft spot” for English football, recent reports claimed that Rangnick was actually going to stop working as a head coach.

If not Rangnick, who will Chelsea appoint?

That remains unclear.

On Wednesday, it was reported that Chelsea had started talks with their club’s all-time record goalscorer: Derby County manager Frank Lampard.

However, after just one year in the dugout with the Rams, is Lampard ready for the Chelsea job?

Another rumour which spread this week was that Newcastle’s Rafa Benitez may return to Chelsea for a second stint.

But is that really going to happen? While Benitez was successful with the Blues previously, the assumption is that the fans would prefer a different coach.
