Impressive Kompany stat emerges after he announces Man City departure

Kompany set to leave Man City

Vincent Kompany joined Manchester City in August of 2008 from Bundesliga outfit, Hamburger SV.

Kompany has played over 300 games for the Sky Blues and has become somewhat of a club legend.

However, on Sunday the 19th of May, Kompany announced his intention to leave City this summer when his contract expires.

The centre-back explained the reason for his departure in an open letter on Facebook.

The Belgian will now become a player/manager for one of his former clubs, Anderlecht.

Kompany’s impressive trophy collection

Kompany’s final game for Man City saw them hammer Javi Gracia’s Watford 6-0 in the 2019 FA Cup final. This was City’s third trophy this season.

After Kompany announced his departure, an impressive stat has come to light regarding his trophy-winning ability.

Since Kompany made the move to Manchester, City have won four Premier League titles, four League Cups and two FA Cups.

No other English side has won as many domestic trophies in the same period.
