Joel Embiid Posts Message to 76ers Fans: ‘I’ll Be Back Even Better and Stronger’

Joel Embiid has had since Sunday’s heartbreaking loss to the Toronto Raptors in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference semifinals to regroup, and the Philadelphia 76ers All-Star is ready to shift his focus to next season.  

“Hell of a season,” Embiid wrote on Twitter Wednesday evening. “Proud of my guys and I appreciate all the support you guys gave us all season long. Extremely disappointed and fell short of our goal but this is the motivation I needed and best believe I’ll be BACK EVEN BETTER AND STRONGER #TheProcess.” 

Moments after Kawhi Leonard improbably made the first series-winning Game 7 buzzer-beater in NBA history over an outstretched Embiiid to eliminate the Sixers, Embiid was distraught and in tears as he left the court:
