Man City vs Tottenham

If Tottenham avoid defeat against Manchester City tonight, Spurs will advance to the Champions League semifinals.

The Lillywhites hold a 1-0 lead in the tie after last week’s first leg in London.

Playing in their brand new home, Son Heung-min scored the winner over the Sky Blues.

When the sides met in the league earlier in the season, Man City beat Spurs 1-0 at Wembley.

It’s worth noting that Wednesday’s match is the first of a double-header between the teams.

Man City host Spurs on Sunday in the Premier League in a huge match effecting the title race and the race for the top four.

Dele Alli in, Harry Winks out: Tottenham probable XI

On Wednesday, the Times have had a pop at guessing the respective line-ups for tonight’s match.

Starting with the visitors, Dele Alli is expected to start even though he broke his hand in the first match against Man City.

Staying in midfield, there’s no room for Harry Winks as he is suffering with a groin injury.

Harry Kane, of course, is out for Spurs. Also missing for the north Londoners are Serge Aurier (hamstring) and Eric Dier (hip flexor).

Following his hat-trick against Huddersfield, Lucas Moura is tipped to start on the left side of the Tottenham attack.

Fernandinho returns: Man City likely line-up

As for Man City, the Times predict that Brazilian enforcer Fernandinho will be back in the starting XI.

Fernandinho missed last weekend’s 2-1 away win at Crystal Palace in the Premier League.

Also set to return to Pep Guardiola’s XI is Bernardo Silva. However the Portuguese international may play slightly deeper than usual as Leroy Sane is in line to start the match as well.

Benjamin Mendy is again set to be picked at left-back.
