Boost for Tottenham: Pep Guardiola suggests Sergio Aguero is not fully fit

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has provided an update on the fitness of Sergio Aguero.

The Argentine has looked off the pace in recent games and was withdrawn against Crystal Palace on Sunday.

City will need Aguero fully firing on Wednesday as they host Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League quarter-finals.

However, the two-time Champions League-winning manager has dropped a hint that Aguero is not fully fit.

Guardiola admitted that Aguero is struggling to get his best condition ahead of Wednesday’s clash.

The Argentine has recently been dealing with a thigh problem meaning he has been unable to complete 90 minutes.

His last two appearances against Tottenham Hotspur and Crystal Palace have both seen him withdrawn.

Despite being fit to face Spurs, Guardiola may opt for Gabriel Jesus to lead the line at the Etihad.

Heung-min Son made it two goals in two appearances at the new stadium to hand Spurs a slender lead over Manchester City.

Crucially, Pochettino’s side managed to keep City at bay in order to deny them an away goal.

Hugo Lloris produced a wonderful save from Sergio Aguero’s spot-kick in what they hope will be a defining moment in the quarter-final tie.
