Why Denis Suarez is not in the Arsenal squad vs Watford

An explanation for Denis Suarez’s absence from the Arsenal squad to take on Watford has emerged online.

Watford vs Arsenal

Unai Emery’s men travel to Vicarage Road for their latest crunch Premier League outing this evening.

The Gunners will be hoping for an immediate bounce-back performance on the domestic front, having fallen to a deserved 1-0 defeat at Everton last weekend (they did since put Napoli to the sword by 2 goals to nil, though).

Victory for Arsenal would see the North Londoners leapfrog both Manchester United and Chelsea into 4th in the Premier League table, with Emery’s men also holding a further game in hand over the latter.

As such, a 3-point haul this evening would come as a huge boost to the top-4 hopes of the capital giants.

Unai Emery, meanwhile, has opted for the following XI, with Granit Xhaka returning, and youngster Konstantinos Mavropanos starting alongside Laurent Koscielny at the heart of the Arsenal defence:

Another of the key talking points surrounding the line-up of the Gunners is the complete absence of Denis Suarez.

Spanish midfielder Suarez has majorly struggled for game-time since making the move to the Emirates on loan in January.

As per the Daily Mail, though, his omission tonight comes as a result of a persistent groin problem:
