Kevin McDonald slams Claudio Ranieri

It’s been a difficult season for Fulham midfielder Kevin McDonald.

At the start of the Premier League campaign under Slavisa Jokanovic, McDonald was a regular starter.

But when Claudio Ranieri took over at Craven Cottage, McDonald was frozen out of the first since.

Since Scott Parker has been given the job, McDonald has been back in the XI.

In the programme for the Liverpool game, McDonald gave an honest interview about his experiences this season.

He revealed that Ranieri told him he wasn’t good enough, and advised McDonald to leave in January. But McDonald baulked at that suggestion.

McDonald on Ranieri ‘style’ at Fulham

(Ranieri’s) style of play didn’t work for the team. We didn’t have the players for the way he wanted to play.

There’s no one really who can get behind apart from Abou Kamaara but then he got rid of him.

It was a struggle for (Ranieri). We were all a bit confused with what he wanted.

They players were going on the pitch sometimes not really sure what they were meant to be doing.

There was no real control to the game, we were just kind of just winging it and hoping Mitro scored a goal.
