Bad for Barcelona: Ousmane Dembele may miss Champions League quarterfinals

Barcelona lose Ousmane Dembele

Barcelona have confirmed the bad news for Ousmane Dembele on Thursday.

The Catalans have confirmed that the French international is now set to miss the next month of action.

Dembele has suffered a hamstring injury in the win over Lyon on Wednesday in the Champions League. The club have confirmed:

Ousmane Dembele has undergone tests with the FC Barcelona Medical Services on Thursday morning and it has been confirmed that he has torn the femoral biceps muscle in his left hamstring.

This means he will be out of action for an expected three or four weeks.

Champions League quarterfinals

The draw for the Champions League quarterfinals will be made on Friday in Switzerland.

Barcelona are the last remaining side from La Liga in the competition.

Four Premier League sides – Man United, Man City, Liverpool and Tottenham – remain in the hat.

Juventus, Ajax and Porto complete the lineup.

The Champions League quarterfinals will be played on April 9/10 and 16/17.

Working on the basis that Dembele will miss a month of action with his hamstring injury, he’ll be absent for the quarterfinal first leg while the second leg is in doubt.
