Jamie Carragher’s fearful prediction before Tottenham’s stadium move

Jamie Carragher on Tottenham

Jamie Carragher was working on Norwegian TV on Wednesday night for the Champions League match between Tottenham and Borussia Dortmund.

Spurs won the match 3-0 with second half goals from Heung-min Son, Jan Vertonghen and Fernando Llorente.

Before the game, Carragher was asked for his analysis of Spurs.

Carragher was generally hugely positive about Tottenham and their recent achievements.

The talking-head argued that Mauricio Pochettino’s success in keeping Spurs in the top four is as good as winning a trophy.

Carragher’s fearful prediction before Tottenham’s stadium move

Have Spurs played their final Champions League match of the season at Wembley?

Should Tottenham advance past Borussia Dortmund, there’s a good chance that they’ll play their quarter-final tie in their new stadium.

So much has been made of Tottenham’s delayed stadium move. The big news in recent days is that the famed VIP cheese room is no longer happening.

For Carragher, he’s worried for Tottenham’s immediate future:

Maybe the timing of this [Tottenham] team and the new stadium coming right now is the worst timing of all.

Carragher believes that Tottenham’s move may help keep most of their star players in north London for another season.

But what will happen after that? If Spurs don’t start winning silverware, Carragher thinks players will head out the exit door.

Carragher on Man United

Carragher also offered his analysis of Man United’s defeat against PSG.

The Sky Sports pundit claimed that PSG were simply better than United on the day.

When it came to the wider discussion about Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s position at Old Trafford, Carragher believes the Norwegian will get the job.
