With NBA All-Star Weekend descending upon Charlotte, North Carolina, this weekend, there’s a litany of events and games aimed at getting fans revved up for the finale, the All-Star Game on Sunday.

That includes the Three-Point Contest and Dunk Contest, as well as the Rising Stars game and Skills Challenge.

One of the most anticipated competitions on the extended weekend lineup is the Celebrity All-Star Game (presented by Ruffles), which happens on Friday, February 15, at the Bojangles’ Coliseum.

The game features celebrities from across music, television and movies, and to make the game more interesting, there are also former professional basketball players added to mix.

The participants will be split into a home team and an away team. The home team will feature celebs like ESPN college basketball analyst Jay Williams and 2018 WNBA Rookie of the Year A’ja Wilson, who both have roots in Carolina.

The away team will feature Quavo, the reigning MVP and frontman of the Migos, and James Shaw Jr., who thwarted a gunman’s attack in a Nashville-area Waffle House early last year.

Fans can see if Quavo can pull off the repeat on ESPN. Tip-off time is 7 p.m. ET.

MVP Predictions:

Migos rapper and NBA superfan Quavo is a strong prospect to win back-to-back MVP awards, but he’ll have some competition this year. Terrence J is a proven celebrity baller, and so is Famous Los.

Two-time NBA champion Ray Allen looks like he’s still in game shape, so he could easily take home the trophy if he so chooses, and Jay Williams could throw his name into the hat, too.

WNBA Rookie of the Year A’ja Wilson, who averaged 20.7 points, 8.0 rebounds and 1.6 blocks in her debut season for the Las Vegas Aces, is another favorite to win the game’s top individual prize, but she’ll have to keep a lid on Chicago Sky center Stefanie Dolson.

The rest of the field is unknown, but don’t be surprised if Luke Cage actor Mike Colter plays like a superhero on the basketball court, too.

It would be a great story if either real-life hero James Shaw Jr. or former Marine Jason Weinmann took home the MVP, showing that regular citizens that do extraordinary things can also grab the spotlight, even in a game full of celebrities.

The home team will be coached by three-time Olympic champ and Hall of Famer Dawn Staley, while the away team get their X’s and O’s from Sue Bird of the 2018 WNBA champion Seattle Storm.
