Arsenal’s four pieces of good news before BATE Borisov
BATE Borisov vs Arsenal
If Arsenal hope to win a trophy this season, is the Europa League their best option?
The Gunners return to European action on Thursday night when they travel to Belarus to face BATE Borisov in the round of 32.
BATE will have a familiar face in their squad: former Arsenal midfielder Alexander Hleb, now 37.
Arsenal host BATE in the second leg on February 21.
Arsenal’s four pieces of good news
Ahead of the BATE match, Arsenal have confirmed four pieces of positive injury news.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang missed last weekend’s Premier League win against Huddersfield. However Aubameyang should be available for the European tie as the club have confirmed he’s in full training.
Similarly, German midfielder Mesut Ozil is fully fit for the BATE match.
At the back, Sokratis has returned to training ahead of schedule.
Finally Swiss international Granit Xhaka is also back from injury in full training.
We’ll soon be 🔙 in #UEL action…

Aaron Ramsey is injured
Arsenal have three long term absentees. Hector Bellerin (left knee), Rob Holding (left knee) and Danny Welbeck (right ankle) are set to miss the rest of the season.
And there’s more bad news for the Gunners.
Days after announcing he’s joining Juventus at the end of the season on a free, midfielder Aaron Ramsey is injured.
Ramsey has a right knee problem and he’s a doubt for the BATE clash.
Ornstein [on BBC’s Football Daily Podcast]: "There are a number of people within the game who I speak to who say that Aaron Ramsey had no intention of signing a contract at Arsenal. He was always planning to leave on a Bosman free at the end of his existing deal." #AFC pic.twitter.com/i8rlTxYMVh
