Analysis of Marco Verratti’s unhealthy lifestyle after Manchester United

French journalist Julien Laurens has opened up on the shocking lifestyle of Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Marco Verratti.

The Italian played an influential role in Les Parisiens’ 2-0 win over Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Laurens wonders the heights Verratti could hit if he was to adopt a work ethic similar to Cristiano Ronaldo.

Verratti’s unhealthy lifestyle revealed

The French journalist has explained the shocking details of Verratti’s build-up to face United.

The 26-year-old has played just once in the last month and was not 100 percent fit when he took to the field at Old Trafford.

That’s not to mention his crazy lifestyle which sees him drinking, smoking and partying most nights of the week.

Only last week the midfielder was out until 6am celebrating teammate Neymar’s birthday.

Laurens told BBC 5 Live:

“For me Verratti, because he was not fit, because he was not 100 percent, because he’s only played one game in the last month.

“Last week he was partying until 6am for Neymar’s birthday, because he smokes, because he drinks because he’s out almost every day of the week.

“When he comes out with a game like this tonight at Old Trafford I think it’s just sensational.

“I think if he had the lifestyle of Cristiano Ronaldo, for example, the work ethic of him, I don’t where he would be in terms of world-class midfielders.

“But the ability he has combined with the lifestyle that he has at the moment and yet still being able to put out a performance like tonight is just incredible.”
