Man United 0 – Angel Di Maria 2

Angel Di Maria was in inspired form for PSG at Old Trafford on Tuesday.

The Argentine’s time at Man United wasn’t happy for a variety of reasons.

Di Maria never excelled under Louis van Gaal, with many accusing the Dutch manager of stifling the South American’s creativity.

However in the Champions League this midweek, Di Maria set up both of PSG’s goals.

He swung in a corner for Presnel Kimpembe’s 53rd minute opener. Di Maria then set up Kylian Mbappe for a second goal on the hour.

Di Maria was also involved in a few unsavoury moments in the match.

Throughout the game Man United’s fans targeted Di Maria with boos.

Then, during the first half, the Argentine crashed into the metal fence surrounding the pitch after a shoulder-barge from Ashley Young.

After Kimpembe’s goal, Di Maria appeared to only curse the Man United supporters as he screamed out profanities.

However, perhaps the most controversial issue for Di Maria came when he took a second half corner.

Some stupid Man United fans threw bottles at the PSG winger as he lined up the dead-ball.

Di Maria even pretended to drink from a glass beer bottle.

Man United may be punished by UEFA

Man United should expect to face repercussions for the bottles thrown at Di Maria. The Independent report:

Should the incident be included in the match referee’s report then European football’s governing body could well take action against the Manchester club.

When considering a likely punishment, Man United may be slapped with a fine.
