The Texans went without an offensive coordinator the last couple of years, but decided to change things up this year.

Tim Kelly was promoted from tight ends coach earlier this month and the move has been met with approval by one of the team’s top offensive players. Wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins gave the move a thumbs up.

“Tim Kelly, he’s a great guy, great coach,” Hopkins said, via the Houston Chronicle. “So, I’m looking forward to working with him. It’s good. Tim’s been around us for a while.”

Hopkins pulled out of the Pro Bowl after hurting his shoulder in the playoff loss to the Colts, but he said he’ll be fine well ahead of the start of Kelly’s first season in his new job.
