Peter Schmeichel suggested Kasper may leave Leicester
Peter Schmeichel suggested Kasper may leave Leicester
Tottenham vs Leicester
Leicester City travelled to Wembley to face Tottenham in the opening match in the Premier League on Sunday.
The big team news prior to kick off was that Jamie Vardy was dropped for the Foxes.
It’s unclear why Vardy would start on the bench, however rumours have been around for a while that the striker doesn’t get on with manager Claude Puel.
Peter Schmeichel on Kasper Schmeichel
Former Man United and Man City goalie Peter Schmeichel was a pundit on beIN Sports on Sunday.
In the build-up to the Tottenham game, Peter was asked to discussed Kasper Schmeichel’s future at the King Power Stadium.
The Danish legend gave a long-winded answer which suggested that Kasper intends to stay at the club.
However, Peter also admitted that his son has obvious ambitions to leave Leicester and play at a higher level.
The problem is Kasper’s next club. If he wants to stay in the Premier League, it’s unlikely that Schmeichel would usurp any of the top goalies in the league.
Leicester’s Claude Puel problem
Peter Schmeichel also indicated that his son isn’t the biggest fan of manager Puel:
Once they get their act together it’s actually not a bad club. They’ve got good players they just don’t have the manager who can get the best out of them.
