Fulham & Chelsea: Impact of Harry Kane’s injury

Harry Kane’s injury vs Man United

Tottenham suffered a potential damaging blow to their season in the final minutes of Sunday’s match against Manchester United.

Harry Kane finished the Man United game with an ankle injury.

The Spurs striker hobbled off the Wembley pitch following a bad tackle from Phil Jones in the 94th minute.

Jones clattered into Kane’s ankle on the edge of the Man United box.

Referee Mike Dean didn’t appear to see the incident, while Kane immediately went down holding his ankle.

Fulham & Chelsea

Tottenham have lost their last two matches at Wembley against Wolves and Man United.

Next up for Spurs are two away matches in west London.

Fulham host Tottenham in the Premier League next weekend, while Chelsea take on the Lillywhites in the Carabao Cup semi-final second-leg on January 24.

Will Harry Kane be fit for those matches?

After the United game, Mauricio Pochettino confirmed that Kane’s injury could be a “massive” blow for Tottenham.

Of course, it comes at the same time that Son Heung-min is leaving the club for several matches to compete with South Korea at the Asian games.

Fulham and Chelsea could thus play against a Spurs side without their best forwards.

Fernando Llorente, who had been thought to be up for sale this January, could now start the matches against Fulham and Chelsea.

Spurs fans will have to wait until later in the week for more precise updates on Kane.

The striker will only have a scan on his ankle once the swelling has gone down.

What about Vincent Janssen?

Vincent Janssen was back on the scoresheet for Spurs this weekend.

The Dutch striker scored for Spurs U23 against West Ham on Sunday.

Could Janssen play for Spurs if Kane is out?

Pochettino was asked that after the Man United game, but sadly the coach ruled out any hope of Janssen’s recall.
