Nantes striker Emiliano Sala

Cardiff are also reportedly in the market for Emiliano Sala.

Sala is a 28-year-old Argentine forward who plays for Nantes in Ligue 1.

Sala has scored 13 goals for Nantes in all competitions this season.

The Daily Mail price Sala in the £20 million range, while the paper also carry the following quote from Cardiff:

Cardiff chairman Mehmet Dalman said: ‘We are talking about a striker in the £18m region, as has been rumoured, so money isn’t the issue; the issue is finding the right player and the right price. Watch this space over the next 10 days.’

Cardiff’s lousy attacking stats

Cardiff are a place above the bottom three in the Premier League.

The Bluebirds have 19 points from 22 games, while they are behind Southampton on goal difference.

Cardiff have the third worst attacking stats in the league, having scored 19 goals. Only Newcastle (16) and Huddersfield (13) are faring worse.
