Tottenham 0 Manchester United 1

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer made a huge statement on Sunday as his Man United side beat Tottenham 1-0.

United had won their previous four league games under Solskjaer vs Cardiff, Huddersfield, Newcastle and Bournemouth.

But going to 3rd place Tottenham would be the real test for a new look United side.

United played a lot of counter-attacking football but still went out and attacked Spurs.

Man United’s tactics were eventually rewarded in the 44th minute when Paul Pogba played a great ball over the top to Marcus Rashford who made it 1-0.

Spurs would fight back well in the second half but countless top saves from David de Gea kept the game at 1-0.

Paul Pogba’s foul on Dele Alli

While Pogba was certainly impressive for United, Spurs fans are furious the Frenchman did not see red in the second half.

Late in the game, Pogba would catch Spurs midfielder Dele Alli with a dangerous tackle.

Pogba’s foot was above Alli’s knee and could have done some serious damage.

However, Mike Dean would choose to show Pogba a yellow for his reckless challenge.

Twitter reaction

This decision infuriated Spurs fans on Twitter.
