Brighton’s security stop Bernando before Liverpool

Not all Premier League footballers are famous.

For evidence of that, Brighton’s Brazilian import Bernando told an interesting story to ESPN Brasil on Saturday before the Liverpool game.

Bernando, the South American defender, has played the majority of Brighton’s league matches this season.

However Bernando missed Saturday’s match against Liverpool due to injury.

The left-back went off injured towards the end of the 2-2 draw with West Ham just over a week ago.

As revealed by Chris Hughton, Bernardo is now injured: “It is a hamstring strain that he has, it’s a minor one which is the good news, so it’s going to be about how he responds.”

According to the defender, security stopped him from entering the Amex Stadium for the Liverpool game.

Security ask ‘who are you?’

Bernardo said that Brighton’s security asked him who he was as he tried to enter the stadium for the Liverpool match.

Bernardo covered up his embarrassment at not being recognised claiming a recent haircut meant security didn’t realise who he was.

In fairness, the Brighton defender has dramatically changed his style.

This is how Bernardo used to look.
