Why Neil Warnock’s Brexit rant after Cardiff vs Huddersfield was hypocritical

Cardiff 0 – Huddersfield 0

Cardiff’s 0-0 draw with Huddersfield won’t live long in the memory banks.

Will these sides both be relegated from the Premier League this season?

Huddersfield arrested their 10-match losing run in Wales, yet the point failed to lift David Wagner’s men off the bottom of the league.

Indeed, Huddersfield remain eight points from safety after 22 games.

Cardiff are fourth bottom of the division.

Neil Warnock’s Brexit rant

After the Huddersfield game, Cardiff boss Neil Warnock offered his thoughts on Brexit.

Warnock is a big believer in the United Kingdom leaving the European Union, as he made the following points:

I don’t know why politicians don’t do what the country wants, if I’m honest. They had a referendum and now we see different politicians and everyone else trying to put their foot in it … Why did we have a referendum in the first bloody place?

I can’t wait to get out of it, if I’m honest. I think we’ll be far better out of the bloody thing. In every aspect. Football-wise as well, absolutely. To hell with the rest of the world.

Backlash to Neil Warnock’s Brexit views

Warnock’s comments on Brexit have sparked plenty of backlash on social media.

Was the Cardiff boss ignoring his club’s own situation?

The point has been made that Cardiff are a hugely international institution as they are owned by Malaysian billionaire Vincent Tan, while they are run by a Cypriot banker, Mehmet Dalman.
