Jimenez impresses for Wolves

According to O Jogo, Wolves want to make the loan signing of Benfica forward Raul Jimenez a permanent one once his loan with Wolves expires at the end of the 2018/19 season.

O Jogo are also suggesting that Wolves would be willing to pay a whopping £34 million to sign Jimenez.

That would smash their previous transfer record Wolves paid for Ruben Neves in 2017, which is around £15.8 million.

However, given Jimenez’s impressive start to the season, it is no surprise Wolves are reportedly willing to pay so much for him.

The 27-year-old has featured in all 15 of Wolves league games so far this season.

In those 15 games, Jimenez has scored four and assisted six, a superb goal contribution record considering this is Wolves first season back in the Premier League.

Newcastle vs Wolves

Wolves next game sees them face Newcastle United on Sunday and Jimenez is once again expected to start.

Wolves head into the game 12th in the table after just picking up a shock 2-1 over Chelsea in midweek.

Jimenez was also one of the goalscorers in said 2-1 win.

Prior to that win over Chelsea though; Wolves had not won any of their last four league games.

A win vs Newcastle could see Wolves move as high as 9th place.

Newcastle, on the other hand, started the weekend in 14th place and have lost just one of their last five Premier League games.
