Manchester United hosted bottom of the league Fulham on Saturday as they looked to put an end to their winless run.
United started the weekend in 8th place and were without a win in their last four league games, drawing two of those games vs Southampton and Crystal Palace.
United also had the worst defensive record of the top 15 clubs before Saturday’s games.
So, a win vs bottom of the table was key if United wanted to stand any chance of moving into a Europa League spot.
As for Fulham, they have shown signs of improvement since Claudio Ranieri took over, including picking up a 3-2 win over Southampton in his first game in charge.
However, Fulham have still yet to keep a clean sheet under their new boss.

Diogo Dalot impresses vs Fulham
Fulham would also fail to keep a clean sheet vs Man United.
Ashley Young would cut inside and curl a shot past Fulham’s keeper in the 13th minute to make it 1-0.
Juan Mata would add a second in the 29th minute before Lukaku added a third just before the break.
One player who is receiving a lot of praise for his display vs Fulham is young right-back Diogo Dalot.
Dalot signed for United over the summer but he has missed much of the season through injury.
But Dalot has now started United’s last three league games and his first-half display vs Fulham shows he has a bright future ahead of him.
Social media reaction
Dalot has also been receiving a lot of praise on social media.
Three crosses into the box in the opening 16 mins from Diogo Dalot. Can’t fault his enthusiasm or his desire to get forward. Has added another dimension to the MUFC attack

Really good start from Dalot in this game so far. Getting plenty of room down the right.

Dalot impressing again. He’s gonna have your spot for next 10 years according to Jose Mourinho @GNev2!

Very basic football today that’s working well. Shame about the tempo; Matic seeming ancient today. Dalot looks excellent. #mufc

Dalot is definitely Valencia’s successor
