‘Pickford, hold my beer’ – David De Gea targeted online following Arsenal opener vs Man United

Droves of viewers of the clash between Manchester United and Arsenal have taken to social media to take aim at David De Gea this evening, after his blunder saw the Red Devils fall behind.

The two sides are currently locked in action at Old Trafford, in a Premier League clash.

Visitors Arsenal came into proceedings in the far more impressive form of the sides, with Unai Emery’s men unbeaten in 19 games across all competitions.

The Gunners’ latest outing saw them put Tottenham to the sword by 4 goals to 2 in the North London derby on Sunday.

United, on the other hand, were winless in their last 3 league fixtures, the latest of which saw Jose Mourinho’s men forced to fight back from 2 goals down to clinch a point away to Southampton.

The early proceedings of this evening’s clash at Old Trafford saw the home side come out of the blocks strong, but Arsenal soon gain control of the majority of possession.

And the away side were subsequently rewarded for their efforts with 26 minutes on the clock, when Lucas Torreira’s corner was met by Shkodran Mustafi to put the Gunners in front.

However, in truth, Mustafi’s header should have been easily kept out, only for a rare mistake from David De Gea in the Manchester United goal.

The Spanish shot-stopper somehow allowed the ball, which had come up off the turf, to slip through his hands and over the line, with fans having since flooded to Twitter to take aim at United’s no.1 in typically-ruthless fashion:
