Southampton got screwed vs Watford

Southampton suffered a major injustice on Saturday in the Premier League against Watford.

The Saints were held to a 1-1 draw at home against the Hornets.

Italian striker Manolo Gabbiadini fired Southampton into the lead in the 20th minute.

Jose Holebas equalised for Watford with eight minutes left on the clock.

However the big talking point centred on an offside goal scored by Charlie Austin.

Austin found the target in the 64th minute, however the officials bizarrely chalked the goal off for offside.

To be clear, that was an appalling decision, and Charlie Austin let his feeling be known in a powerful post match interview.

Referee Simon Hooper would never get Man City vs Manchester United

The big match in the Premier League on Sunday is the Manchester derby.

Man City will play host to Manchester United at the Etihad Stadium.

Southampton manager Mark Hughes has previously been employed by both Manchester clubs.

In his heyday, Hughes was a superb striker for United.

While Hughes managed Man City earlier in his career.

The Southampton manager used the upcoming Manchester derby as a basis to slam referee Simon Hooper after the Watford game.

Hooper was only officiating his fourth Premier League match on Saturday at St Mary’s.

Are clubs like Southampton and Watford treated differently to the big boys like Man City and Manchester United?

Hughes believes the answer is definitely ‘yes!’

The Saints manager has opened himself up to a possible fine or ban by the FA after he slammed Premier League referee Simon Hooper:

Hughes labelled ref Hooper “inexperienced and unfit” while arguing that the official would never be handed the Manchester derby.
