Man City vs Manchester United

City versus United. All eyes will be focused on the Manchester derby on Sunday in the Premier League.

Pep Guardiola’s side smashed Southampton 6-1 last weekend in domestic action.

Almost incredibly, Guardiola criticised his defence and Raheem Sterling (who scored twice) after the Saints game.

Man City have opened up a two point gap at the top of the table after 11 rounds of the season.

Manchester United, meanwhile, are slowly climbing up the league after a difficult start to the campaign.

United claimed a 2-1 away win at Bournemouth last weekend.

Referee Anthony Taylor appointment for the Manchester derby

Prior to the Manchester derby, the Premier League have confirmed that the match will be officiated by Anthony Taylor.

Was that a smart appointment by the Premier League?

Anthony Taylor was born in Manchester, which has duly sparked conspiracy theories about potential biases in the City vs United match.

It’s widely reported on social media that while Anthony Taylor is an Altrincham fan, his family have been season-ticket holders at Man United.

Yet, even if that’s all true, does that mean the referee is somehow compromised?

Cue the conspiracy theories
