Cristiano Ronaldo explains why Man United didn’t deserve to beat Juventus

Juventus 1 – Manchester United 2

What a night for Manchester United in Turin.

Against the odds and all expectations, Man United beat Juventus 2-1 in the Champions League.

The result significantly boosts Man United’s hopes of advancing to the knockout stages of the competition.

Juventus are top of the group with nine points, while Man United are second with seven points.

After Valencia beat Young Boys 3-1 on Wednesday, Los Che have five points on the board.

Cristiano Ronaldo: Man United didn’t deserve to win

In a post match interview with Viasport, Cristiano Ronaldo explained why he believed Man United didn’t deserve to win the match:

(Juventus) should’ve won the game easily. Three-four goals.

Manchester (United) didn’t do much, in my opinion.

Two chances, set pieces. I know the English teams are always looking for the set pieces.

In some respects the stats backed up Ronaldo’s assertions.

While Juventus had 23 shots in the match, Man United only had nine. Yet, when it came to shots on target, both sides only had three efforts apiece.

Juventus hit the woodwork on a couple of occasions against Man United.
