Goals stat for Ronaldo

Manchester United are one of the clubs everyone expects to see in the Champions League.

Cristiano Ronaldo is perhaps the one player everyone thinks of when they watch the Champions League.

So when the two came face to face again, it was natural something special would happen.

Ronaldo did score a wonderful goal – but it wasn’t that which had people talking.

It was a stat – that looked at goals scored by both Ronaldo and United since 2010 in the Champions League.

Ronaldo has actually scored more goals than United in that time period.

Of course, after the Juan Mata goal, it means United now have 93 goals to the 100 of Ronaldo.

United then took the lead with a contentious goal – it may have been an own goal, but it took them to 94 goals.

A massive game

The game was of course huge, and despite Juventus taking the lead, United managed to turn it around.

When Juve were 1-0 ahead, it looked like United were going to be third in their group.

Mourinho claimed that the game would not be life or death, but getting something from a trip top Turin is of course huge.
