Zlatan Ibrahimovic claims the Premier League is overrated

Zlatan Ibrahimovic claims the Premier League is “overrated” following his spell at Manchester United, he told FourFourTwo magazine.

At the age of 35, the Swedish legend arrived at Old Trafford hoping to add to his collection of league titles.

Despite failing to win the Premier League, he helped the Red Devils to triumphs in both the League Cup and Europa League.

The current LA Galaxy forward netted 17 goals in 33 Premier League appearances during his time in England.

His spell at Old Trafford was hugely disrupted by a cruciate ligament damage injury which sidelined him for around six months.

Speaking about England’s top-flight, Ibrahimovic claimed the quality of the league is somewhat overrated.

However, he did admit that due to the intensity, even the best players could still struggle to make the grade.

Ibrahimovic told FourFourTwo magazine:

“I liked the Premier League. I found it very motivating and very exciting.

“It gets a lot of attention, although I feel the quality is a little bit overrated – the individual quality, the technical part.

“But the rhythm is high.

“Even if you are the best, if you can’t handle the rhythm, the pace, then you will not succeed, because the pace is very high.”
