During his playing career, the 41-year-old spent five years with the French club before moving to Juventus.

Henry netted 20 goals in 105 league matches for Monaco and became one of the most highly sought after youngsters in the world.

Since August 2016, he has been part of the Belgian national team coaching set-up.

Alongside Martinez, he helped the Red Devils to claim a bronze medal at the World Cup in Russia over the summer.

Henry now returns to Monaco 19 years on from his departure, to replace Leonardo Jardim.

The Portuguese manager guided Monaco to their first league title in 17 years and a Champions League semi-final.

However, following a disastrous start to the season, Jardim was sacked.
