Martin Braithwaite 100% committed to Middlesbrough despite exit rumours

Martin Braithwaite was heavily linked with a move away from Middlesbrough over the 2018 summer transfer window.

Boro boss Tony Pulis even confirmed it was very likely they would lose him on the deadline day for Spanish and French clubs.

However, Braithwaite did not move in the summer and is now giving his all for Middlesbrough.

‘I have been asked to play football and I always give 100% and use all the qualities I have’

Speaking about transfer rumours and the 2018/19 season with Boro, Braithwaite stated:

“It was a very fun period with a lot of rumours. One day I was going somewhere, and the next day I was going somewhere else!

“It was fun to sit back and look at all the rumours when I know what suited (me) and what didn’t fit.

“I have been asked to play football and I always give 100% and use all the qualities I have.

“It has not been different after I came back to Middlesbrough. They needed me to play, and I’ve given them 100%, and it’s been a nice start to the season, we have done well.

“I have a nice relationship with the coach. I can’t see why he has any reason to put me out in the cold. I have performed for him and helped the team to a good position.

“At the same time he has let me play and I am also learning good things from him, so the relationship is just fine, as it should be between a player and a coach.

“There’s respect between us.”

Braithwaite starts strong

Despite being linked away from Boro this summer, Braithwaite has had a solid start to the 2018/19 season with Middlesbrough.

Braithwaite would score in Middlesbrough’s first game of the season as they came from behind to draw 2-2 with Millwall.

The forward would then score in Boro’s 3-0 win over Sheffield United before adding his third of the season vs Bristol City.

Boro as a club are also having a solid start.

They went into the international break 4th in the league and just three points off top spot.

However, they are having a small dip in form.
