Theo Walcott targeting top four finish with Everton this season
Can Everton finish in the top four?
Everton forward Theo Walcott has claimed that he is looking to finish in the Premier League top four this season.
The Toffees have had a bit of an up and down campaign so far.
A good draw with Wolves on the opening day was followed up by a deserved win against Southampton.
Though, it took 5 Premier League games before they would get another win.
That came against Fulham the other week but after that came another win at the King Power stadium, beating Leicester 2-1.
Now, the side are starting to look up the table and Theo Walcott is looking high up the table.
“I’m hoping for a top-four finish, I really am”
That is because the Englishman has revealed that he is hoping to finish in the top four this season.
The last time Everton achieved that, they were knocked out at the qualifying stages of the Champions League in 2005 by Villarreal.
Though, Theo Walcott genuinely thinks Everton are on the up.
“Me personally, I’m hoping for a top-four finish, I really am. I’ve set my goals really high,” he told evertontv, as cited by Sky Sports.
“I’m a positive guy so I genuinely think we’re going in the right direction.
“You need to be realistic as well and think maybe that’s a bit too far-fetched, but I think sixth is reachable.
“We just have to start turning those draws into wins, it’s as simple as that.
“We’re not far off, I really don’t think we are. I think you can judge us fairly when everyone is back fit.”
