Paul Merson claims Arsenal ‘thrashing’ incoming

A thrashing is incoming

Arsenal may be doing well this season, with the fans even claiming they have their old Arsenal back.

However, Paul Merson thinks they’re one or two games away from being thrashed.

He noted that the defence is the major issue for the Gunners.

Merson added that Unai Emery’s side will always score goals, it’s just how many they tend to concede can become an issue.

“Sooner or later they will be on the end of a big score – defensively they are all over the place,” he told The Debate.

“The one thing that gets them out of trouble is that they’re always going to score goals. But defensively, they are just not good enough.”

A great run of form

Arsenal are flying up the table at the minute.

The Gunners are of course breaking into the top four, and have won all their games after losing the opening two games.

Arsenal are also sitting above Spurs in the table, something the fans will love.

Going into the next part of the season, the players will need to kick on.

There’s also uncertainty around the contract of Aaron Ramsey.

Ramsey is out of contract at the end of the season, and hasn’t put pen to paper on a new deal yet.
