Sven supports Liverpool

Former England manager Sven-Goran Eriksson has claimed he wants Liverpool to win the Premier League title.

Eriksson of course managed Manchester City – yet has revealed he’s actually a Liverpool fan.

He added that the side are strong, and have bought in some good players.

Eriksson said he wanted Jurgen Klopp’s men to win the league as soon as possible.

“It’s going to be very interesting as usual,” he told Sky Sports. “A lot of people are saying that maybe it is time for Liverpool. I hope so because in my heart I’m a Liverpool fan. But I think Manchester City are still very strong.

“I liked Liverpool last season. They played very good football, very optimistic, working very hard, very impressive.

“They bought some new players so they look very strong. Sooner or later they will win it, no? I hope it will be sooner.”

Klopp’s ambition this season

This season, Klopp wants to see his side win trophies.

They came so close last time out, losing the Champions League final.

They of course managed to finish third in the league, and are once again in the Champions League.

Not only that, but Liverpool are locked in a three way battle with Chelsea and Manchester City for the Premier League title.

Their squad is far better than last season.

Klopp will be hoping it’s that which sees them go the whole way.

Chelsea and Man City both have recent experiences of winning the title.

However, Liverpool don’t, and will have to rely on Klopp and his management skills to see them through.
