Tottenham Hotspur crashed to their second successive Premier League defeat this afternoon following a dominating display by Liverpool.

The Reds claimed their fifth win from five fixtures with goals from Georginio Wijnaldum and Roberto Firmino sealing the three points.

Aside from the result, a number of eagle-eyed supporters noticed something strange with defender Toby Alderweireld’s kit…

The 29-year-old was wearing a kit without Tottenham’s club crest on the shirt.

With the reasoning currently unknown, we highly doubt it was the defender staging a rather strange protest for a move away…

During his Thursday press conference, Mauricio Pochettino spoke about Alderweireld’s future at the club.

Pochettino said:

“Look, when in England the transfer window closed and in Europe closed I think we move on.

“Then like always I told you, I never talk about situations, that maybe yes or maybe no, the club is dealing or working.

“In that situation it’s not my job to talk about individual situations.

“I think it’s so clear, not only in his case, in all the players that have different situations, we are so clear, the club is so clear, when something happens we are going to communicate the news as soon as possible.

“I am not going to talk about individual things. It’s not going to help anyone.”

The Reds’ hot form continues: Tottenham Hotspur 1-2 Liverpool

The Reds ran riot at Wembley Stadium to maintain their perfect start to the season.

Liverpool lead the way at the top of the Premier League with maximum points.

Jurgen Klopp’s side overcame their toughest test so far – passing with flying colours by brushing Spurs aside.

Michel Vorm’s error from a corner and his inability to prevent Georginio Wijnaldum header from crossing the line gifted Liverpool the lead just before the interval.

Roberto Firmino was the player to double their lead tucking home from close range after 54 minutes.

Erik Lamela netted Tottenham a late consolation and produce a rather flattering scoreline for his side’s display.
