Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was ‘angry’ with Unai Emery vs Newcastle

Newcastle 1 – Arsenal 2

Arsenal have won their last three matches in a row.

Some were worrying for Unai Emery in the early weeks of the season.

Arsenal opened the season with successive defeats to Man City and Chelsea.

But Arsenal have rebounded with wins against West Ham, Cardiff and now Newcastle.

Granit Xhaka opened against the Magpies, while Mesut Ozil scored a second just before the hour.

Ciaran Clark scored a late consolation for Newcastle.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was ‘angry’ with Unai Emery

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang failed to find the target at St James’ Park.

Aubameyang only has one Premier League goal so far this season.

In the 69th minute, Unai Emery gave Aubameyang the hook. The manager brought on Henrikh Mkhitaryan instead.

As soon as his number went up, Aubameyang’s face soured.

It was obvious the striker was unhappy with his manager’s decision.

And after the game, Emery discussed Aubameyang’s expressions in his post match presser:

It’s normal, I want the players I change or don’t start to be angry, they have ambition to help the team.

Granit Xhaka’s celebration

Some Arsenal fans were puzzled by Granit Xhaka’s goal celebration at Newcastle.

Was the Swiss midfielder sending a message to the away fans?

Arsenal Fan TV videos

When it came to the post match interviews on Arsenal Fan TV, Xhaka came in for plenty of praise.

Lucas Torriera was again brought on as a sub for the Gunners.

Calls for Torriera to start for Arsenal continue.
