Manuel Pellegrini: West Ham players ‘must trust’ him

After failing to pick up a single Premier League win since taking charge of West Ham, Manuel Pellegrini has asked his players to trust in his style of play that has yielded results in the past.

‘It is not an experiment we are doing here’

Speaking ahead of West Ham’s clash with Everton, Pellegrini stated:

“Of course when the results are not good.

“Everyone is disappointed here – me, the players, the owners, the fans, everyone. But also they must understand they must trust in what we are doing because it is not an experiment we are doing here.

“It is a way to grow that we have done before a lot of times so me, I will not change.

“Do I ever doubt my methods? No. I always trust in what I do because I have 35 years in this.

“I don’t think that because you lose four games you must not be confident.

“In this moment I trust more than ever what I do. Because it’s not the first time that I am doing this work, not the first time in my career that we have bad results, every club has bad results in one moment of the season.

“It is not good to start with bad results but we are absolutely confident we are going to reverse it. I am not worried about statistics, I am worried about trying to find the team to play well and win the game.”

Winless West Ham

West Ham take on Everton on Sunday as they go in search of not only their first win of the season. But also their first point of the season.

Pellegrini started his West Ham career by getting smashed 4-0 by Liverpool.

West Ham then hosted Bournemouth and would lose 2-1 in a very winnable game.

The Hammers were then smashed 3-1 by Unai Emery’s Arsenal.

West Ham did look like they might get a point vs Wolves, but a late Adam Traore goal would see West Ham lose 1-0.
