Tottenham injury blow: Dele Alli doubt for Inter Milan Champions League tie

Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed Dele Alli could “possibly” miss Tottenham Hotspur’s Champions League tie against Inter Milan.

The 22-year-old withdrew from the England squad on Monday after suffering a ‘minor muscle strain’.

Alli will also sit out of Spurs’ Premier League clash against Liverpool on Saturday.

Mauricio Pochettino has been handed a huge injury blow ahead of a crucial week with games against Liverpool and Inter Milan.

The Argentine will be without both Dele Alli and Hugo Lloris who are both nursing injuries.

Alli has suffered a ‘minor muscle strain’, whilst Lloris is struggling with a thigh injury.

Speaking about Alli, Pochettino told Sky Sports:

“Alli is a bit unlucky, he suffered a small injury after 20 minutes against Spain.

“Disappointed, because we’re going to miss him for this game, and possibly Inter Milan in the Champions League, but it is not a big issue.”

Pochettino also revealed that club captain Lloris is set to undergo another scan on his injury.

Tottenham Hotspur report the goalkeeper will miss ‘several weeks’.

Pochettino added:

“Hugo Lloris will have another scan to see the evolution of his injury.

“Hopefully, it will be OK and he will be available again soon, like Dele.”
