Mauricio Pochettino remaining coy over Toby Alderweireld’s Spurs future

Could Toby be on the move soon?

Mauricio Pochettino has been speaking about Toby Alderweireld’s Tottenham future today after rumours of an exit over the summer.

The Belgian defender is yet to sign a new deal at the club and was heavily linked with a move to Manchester United over the summer.

Though, during the recent international break, Alderweireld has claimed that he didn’t necessarily want to leave in the summer.

“Everyone was saying everywhere that I absolutely wanted to leave Tottenham, that’s not true,” he explained.

Is a new deal on the cards?

Now, Pochettino has refused to be drawn in on talk over Alderweireld’s future.

“Look, when in England the transfer window closed and in Europe closed I think we move on,” he explained in his press conference today.

“Then like always I told you, I never talk about situations, that maybe yes or maybe no, the club is dealing or working.

“In that situation it’s not my job to talk about individual situations.

“I think it’s so clear, not only in his case, in all the players that have different situations, we are so clear, the club is so clear, when something happens we are going to communicate the news as soon as possible.

“I am not going to talk about individual things. It’s not going to help anyone.”
