Steward resuscitated during Ajax vs Heracles

A horrific story has been reported out of Holland on the first weekend of the new Eredivisie season.

Amsterdam powerhouse Ajax started their campaign with a home match against Heracles.

As reported by Holland’s AT5, eye witness reports at the game said a steward was resuscitated by ambulance personnel following an incident in the stadium.

It’s unclear what exactly happened. All that’s reported is that the steward was beaten up after a fight.

The incident took place in section 124 on the south side of the stadium.

A white unit was erected to house the steward as he required urgent medical treatment.

Ultimately the steward was resuscitated, before he was taken to hospital.

A spokesman from Ajax told AT5 the steward had an “independent heartbeat” after he left the stadium.

Ajax 1 – Heracles 1

Ajax dropped two points at the Johan Cruijff Arena in a poor opening result against Heracles.

Heracles took the lead with six minutes remaining in the game through Kristoffer Peterson.

Ajax salvaged a point with two minutes left in the game when defender Matthjis de Ligt levelled.

It was a bad result for Ajax after they lost he league last season to rivals PSV.
