Marco Silva rules out Everton exit for Ademola Lookman

Going nowhere

Everton boss Marco Silva has ruled out a move for Ademola Lookman before the end of the European transfer market amid RB Leipzig interest.

The Englishman has been linked with a move away from Goodison Park for most of the summer.

He spent half of last season on loan at German side RB Leipzig and impressed in the Bundesliga.

He scored 5 goals and assisted 3 in 11 appearances and the Germans want him back on a permanent deal.

Only problem for them is that Everton are not willing to let one of their most prized youngsters leave.

‘Our present and our future’

With the European transfer window still open until the end of the month, Marco Silva has ruled out a move away from the club.

“Of course, Ademola is very much in our plans,” he explained in a press conference, as quoted by the Liverpool Echo.

“I know the speculation but on the first day I told the owner [we want to keep him.] He’s a good player.

“He did well on loan for five and six months and was happy there but now is our moment to make him happy here.

“He is a very good player. He is our present and our future.”

Leipzig head coach Ralf Rangnick has also been speaking about Lookman today.

“We keep our budget, a 30 million transfer is excluded,” he explained to Kicker, as cited by Goal.

“At the moment it actually looks like it’s not working, but the emphasis is on ‘at the moment’.”
