Inter Milan and Juventus have both made Manchester United offers to sign Matteo Darmian on loan for the season, according to the Daily Mirror.

The Red Devils are willing to sell the Italian this summer who is no longer part of manager Jose Mourinho’s plans and whose contract expires next summer.

United are keen to offload the defender on a permanent deal, however, both Serie A clubs are pushing for a loan with a view to permanent deal.

Darmian’s Italy return

The 28-year-old has endured a tough time at Old Trafford failing to fully establish himself under either Louis van Gaal or Jose Mourinho.

This season he made a disappointing 17 appearances in all competitions for United having been kept out of the starting line-up by Ashley Young.

During his time in England, Darmian won an FA Cup, a League Cup, the Europa League and the Community Sheild, however, with United finishing the 2017/2018 season empty-handed, Mourinho is looking to overhaul his squad.

Both Inter and Juve are the clubs who are showing a strong interest and have both submitted offers for the player United value at £17m.

The Red Devils attempted to sign the forward last summer with manager Jose Mourinho a keen admirer and are now looking to test their luck again following his sensational 2018 World Cup form.

The 29-year-old also helped his club side Inter return to the Champions League as he netted 11 times in 37 Serie A appearances last season.

Last summer, Perisic came close to completing a move to Old Trafford and now the Red Devils have returned with negotiations between the two clubs at an advanced stage.

Further discussions are expected between Inter and United, with Mourinho keen to bring the Croat to Manchester.
