The Houston Rockets reportedly offered restricted free agent Clint Capela a five-year deal worth $85 million on July 1 and are “optimistic” they will reach an agreement.

Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle reported the news, noting the deal could be worth as much as $90 million with incentives. “Absolutely” a source told Feigen when asked if there was still optimism in place on the Rockets’ side.

This comes after Tim MacMahon of reported Houston’s initial offer was approximately four years for $60 million even though Capela was looking for a contract in the four-year and $100 million range.
