Lyon interested in West Brom winger
According to France Football, Lyon have emerged as the latest contender for West Brom’s Nacer Chadli’s signature.
Turkish side Besiktas are also said to be interested in Chadli who is currently on international duty with Belgium and is set to go head-to-head with France later tonight.
The 28-year-old Chadli has had a long varying career. The Belgian made his professional debut for Dutch side AGOVV Apeldoorn in 2007.
Chadli would play 95 games for Apeldoorn scoring 29 and assisting 20 during his time there.
The Belgian would then move to fellow Dutch side FC Twente in 2010 for a fee of just £360,000. While at the Eredivisie club he would play 120 games, scoring 40 and assisting 26 in that time.
It was this excellent record which earned Chadli a move to Tottenham in 2013 for a fee in the region of £7.3 million.
Chadli would score 25 and assist 16 in 119 games for Spurs. However, he struggled to hold down a regular starting place for Tottenham and would be sold to West Brom in 2016 for around £13.6 million.
Chadli enjoyed a successful debut season for the Baggies. He would score five and assist five in 31 Premier League appearances during the 2016/17 season.
However, this past season did not go as well for the Belgian or for West Brom as a club.
Chadli was out with injuries for much of the 2017/18 season and would only manage five Premier League appearances throughout the full campaign.
West Brom also struggled as they finished dead bottom of the Premier League and as a result will now be playing their football in the Championship next season.
