Leo Messi vs Cristiano Ronaldo: Eden Hazard suggests the Ballon d’Or is fixed
Eden Hazard & the 2018 Ballon d’Or
As we enter the final stages of the 2018 World Cup, the subject of the 2018 Ballon d’Or has arisen.
Many will argue that the star player on this year’s World Cup winning side should be crowned the 2018 Ballon d’Or winner.
If that happens, it will be the first time in a decade that neither Leo Messi nor Cristiano Ronaldo lifted the trophy.
But Chelsea star Eden Hazard still believes the Ballon d’Or will go to either Messi or Ronaldo.
In the build up to the France semi-final, Hazard has dropped an unsubtle hint that the Ballon d’Or is fixed.

Leo Messi vs Cristiano Ronaldo
As reported by Marca, Hazard gave the following response to who will win this year’s Ballon d’Or:
It will be for Messi or Cristiano, it is written like that.
I remember a year in which [Franck] Ribery won everything and didn’t get it.
Is this Hazard’s way of trying to shake up the conversation?
For the record, Messi won the La Liga title once again with Barcelona last season.
Cristiano Ronald won his third straight Champions League medal with Real Madrid after they beat Liverpool 3-1 in Kiev.
Belgium vs France
France take on Belgium on Tuesday night at the Krestovsky Stadium in Saint Petersburg for a place in Sunday’s World Cup Final.
Belgium have never reached the World Cup Final, having lost to West Germany in their sole semi-final appearance in 1986.
Les Bleus have played in five previous World Cup semi-finals, going on to reach the final in 1998 (which they won) and 2006.
Belgium’s assistant coach, Thierry Henry won the World Cup in 1998 with France and is their all-time leading goalscorer.
Surprisingly, Belgium have the better head-to-head record in this fixture, winning 30 and losing 24 of their 73 matches against France
