Jean Seri & Borussia Dortmund: Abramovich’s problems may mean Chelsea lose out

Jean Seri & Chelsea

News broke on Monday night that Jean Seri  has signed a pre-contract with Chelsea.

Seri is a sought-after midfielder, who is able to play box to box.

Last season 26-year-old Seri chipped in with 7 goals and 9 assists for Nice.

Long rumoured to make an exit from Nice, Chelsea appear to be at the front of the queue to sign the Ivory Coast international.

But according to Paris United, the deal could be in doubt because of Roman Abramovich.

Roman Abramovich has problems

It’s been well-documented in the press that Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has been denied a visa to continue living in the UK.

As a result, Roman Abramovich recently moved his residence to Israel. In doing so he’s quickly become the richest Israeli in the world.

Paris United believe that Abramovich’s visa problems could impact on the Jean Seri deal.

Seri’s pre-contract with the Blues has reportedly been agreed for weeks. Yet it’s not been executed on because of Abramovich.

Arsenal & Borussia Dortmund

As Chelsea stall, Paris United report that Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund are also in the Jean Seri frame.

Starting with the Gunners, that move seems less likely. Paris United say that while Arsenal have been tracking the midfielder, Unai Emery isn’t convinced.

Could Borussia Dortmund steal in to sign Seri? Perhaps, as BVB, along with Real Betis are also name-dropped as possible suitors.
