Stefan Savic’s agent discusses Atletico future amid Chelsea & Juventus links

The agent of Atletico Madrid defender Stefan Savic has today opened up on his client’s future, amid links to both Chelsea and Juventus.

No nonsense character

Savic, an experienced 27-year-old Montenegrin international, has been on the books of Atletico since 2015, when he made the move to the Spanish capital from Serie A outfit Fiorentina.

Following a difficult debut campaign with the Rojiblancos, the powerful central defender has since gone on to establish himself as an integral member of Diego Simeone’s squad, having racked up 30 La Liga starts during the 2016/17 campaign, and 26 more this past season.

However, the presence of both Diego Godin and Jose Gimenez at the Wanda Metropolitano mean that Savic has nevertheless been linked with a departure from the club on occasion, with a number of European heavyweights said to maintain an interest in the stopper’s services.

And, as per a report from the ever-reliable Gianluca Di Marzio on Tuesday night, two of the clubs keen to coax Savic away from La Liga are Juventus and Chelsea, with the Italian transfer expert having even gone as far as to claim that both sides are in fact currently locked in talks with Atletico over the former Manchester City man’s signature:

‘Evaluate what’s best for the club’

As such, unsurprisingly, Savic’s agent has since been questioned on the rumours of mounting interest in his client’s services from around Europe, with Zarko Pelicic having provided a brief update on his client’s future during an interview with TuttoJuve earlier today:

‘Stefan is a player who is always very interesting.’

‘He has top quality, he can play for any of the top four teams in the best leagues.’

‘Juventus? I can’t name names, everything goes through the club. He’s currently an Atletico Madrid player, we’ll evaluate what’s best for the club and the lad.’
