Jack Wilshere drops a major hint about his ongoing Arsenal career
Jack Wilshere & Arsenal
Will Jack Wilshere still be an Arsenal player in 2018-19?
The 26-year-old midfielder is under contract with the Gunners until July 1, 2018.
Last season Wilshere made 40 appearances for Arsenal in all competitions. Yet only 20 of those appearances came in the Premier League as Wilshere struggled to lock down a first team place.
Wilshere has repeatedly stated his desire to remain at Arsenal. However it’s beginning to look increasingly likely that the midfielder will move clubs this summer.
Wilshere’s Instagram update
On Wednesday Wilshere posted an eye-catching update on social media.
He wrote: ‘There comes a time when you have to choose between turning the page and closing the book.’
You don’t have to be Sherlock Holmes to understand that Wilshere appears to be signalling his days at Arsenal are coming to an end.
Wilshere, who has struggled with injuries in recent years, has failed to agree a new deal with the Gunners.
This is what @JackWilshere posted on Instagram Story last night.

Sampdoria’s Lucas Torreira
Will Wilshere’s spot in the Arsenal squad be filled by Sampdoria’s Lucas Torreira?
That’s looking highly possible as the Uruguayan international defensive midfielder seems to be on his way to the Emirates Stadium.
The 22-year-old South American, who will play at the 2018 World Cup, seems to be on the verge of signing for the Gunners.
Last season Torreira played 38 matches for Samp, scoring four goals and chipping in with one assist.
Arsenal’s summer signings
Arsenal have already confirmed the signing of Swiss international Stephan Lichtsteiner from Juventus.
Greek international defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos is also set to sign for Arsenal from Borussia Dortmund.
Bayer Leverkusen goalie Bernd Leno is also rumoured to be set to sign for Arsenal this summer.
