Football supporters bemused by Antoine Griezmann airing documentary announcing his Atletico Madrid future
Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann has created a documentary named “La Decision”, which aired this evening on Spanish television, in which the Frenchman revealed his club for next season.
Ahead of France’s World Cup opening game against Australia on Saturday, the forward wanted to clarify his future following months of discussion as to whether he would be departing the Wanda Metropolitano.
The 27-year-old confirmed that he will remain in the Spanish capital next season following a thorough process in which he decided whether to accept a new contract offer from Atletico or push through a transfer to Barcelona.

It was a transfer saga that had been ongoing for months, however, this evening, Griezmann’s documentary brought to an end speculation surrounding his future.
The Frenchman ended the documentary by announcing:
“I have decided to stay.”
Atletico have been furious with the Catalan Giants’ attempts to land the forward, even reporting them to FIFA over an illegal approach in January.
Griezmann joined the club from the Spanish capital in 2014 from Real Sociedad going on to score 112 goals in all competitions for Atletico.
“La Decision” mirrored the documentary made by NBA star LeBron James who announced his move from Cleveland to Miami in 2010.
However, it did not go down well with many football supporters who believe that the documentary represents the disconnect between the players and fans.
Part of this Griezmann circus is him talking to his sister, who explains what Barca can offer, and then he says to his girlfriend “What are we doing, baby?”
This is absurd. How many people told him this would be a good idea? pic.twitter.com/VQWk6w5SzS

The Griezmann ‘decision’ video is beyond ridiculous. And they wonder why supporters feel so distant from the modern day player.

Griezmann will release a video at 8.15pm to tell everyone if he is staying or leaving Atletico, as he attempts to beat Harry Kane to the ‘weirdest behavior of the season’ award.
